A community-driven education assistance initiative
Project N.E.S.T. is a community-based education assistance initiative born in 2021 at the height of the pandemic in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Formed online communities, managed by schools and with membership amongst parents, teachers, administrators, barangay officials, and local citizens. Students and their parents can post education-related needs, both tangible goods (school supplies, learning materials, etc.) and intangible services (tutoring, webinars, parenting exchanges, etc.) and fellow members can respond to address these needs.
Further details about the program can be accessed through this link.
As part of Project N.E.S.T.’s framework, it extends its educational support towards institutional assistance for the education sector. Together with BMware, a software development company, an online Project N.E.S.T. platform has been created for schools to upload project proposals reflecting their needs. The private sector can browse these proposals and match them with potential assistance. This provides an open and inclusive channel for all schools to ask for help, while donors can browse a comprehensive list of education sector needs.
